Roundtable

The first expert-analytical roundtable on the use of perfusion technologies in donation was held.

This is the first in Russia highly specialized scientific and practical event dedicated to a new type of donation for our country - donation after out-of-hospital circulatory arrest. The scientific program of the round table was arranged by Russia's leading experts in the field of organ donation - Professor M.G. Minina of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Professor O.N. Reznik.

The conference included presentations on the basic principles of perfusion technologies as well as specialists' own experience. Also at the round table, Transbiotech presented the Ex-Stream perfusion device - the first Russian ECLS device, also applicable in organ perfusion. The round table participants decided that, taking into account the relevance of further development of this area, such events should be held on a regular basis. According to the participants, uniting the efforts of the professional community and open discussion of these issues under the aegis of associations of specialists is the most important factor driving the development of this type of donation.
